| The
San Dimas real estate
market behaved like much
of California real estate
in that the median price
of a resale home just
about doubled during the
14 year period from 1990
to 2004. Today,
San Dimas is a modern Los
Angles suburb that holds
to its Western roots.
Along with
residential homes and area
malls, San Dimas offers a
rodeo, horse trails and
plenty of open space.
In
the early days of the
1800s, San Dimas was an
agricultural and cattle
area but in the 1950s and
1960s, the orange groves
were torn out and the San
Dimas real estate market
began its boom.
Most of San Dimas is more
mild than wild, with horse
properties concentrated in
the north end of town. In
the San Dimas real estate
market, houses include
small turn-of-the-century
bungalows and hilltop
mansions. A
2,000-square-foot,
1980s-era home typically
will sell for about
$550,000.
